VOLUNTEERS

We are always looking for volunteers in the following areas:

• Academic Tutoring: Our students need help in English, Math, Science, and History. A volunteer works one-on-one with a student and does not need to have previous teaching or tutoring experience.
• Enrichment: Perhaps you have a talent for athletics or cooking, or you have another unique skill that can provide an interesting experience for our participants. Contact us with your ideas!
• Photography: We frequently need pictures taken of our students or at our events. This is a great way to get involved without have to commit a significant amount of your time.
• Event Volunteers: If you’re interested in event planning, you can assist in organizing and facilitating one of our fundraising events or field trips.
• Internships: We are happy to give college or community service credit if you are interested in setting up an internship. We accept interns in a variety of areas based on need and experience.

TUTORS

Determined to Succeed provides regular after-school tutoring for all participating students. We frequently have openings for new part-time tutors. We are looking for people who are committed to working with youth, who have energy, and who believe in making a difference. Determined to Succeed tutors are paid $15 to $25 per hour depending on experience.

Job Description:

• Provide academic assistance to students during after-school hours.
• Assist students based on your skills and competence in various areas, including English, Math, History, and Science.
• Work with students in small groups or one-on-one. Qualifications: • Experience working with children or youth.
• Experience in education as a teacher or tutor.
• Reliable transportation needed.
• Background check is mandatory.
