AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING

During the school year, our students attend two after-school sessions per week. They receive one-on-one attention from a credentialed teacher as well as experienced tutors who work with them individually and in small groups. They receive homework and test preparation help as well as subject-specific tutoring. In addition to these academic services, the Determined to Succeed staff mentors and counsels the students on issues ranging from peer pressure to current events. Determined to Succeed also acts as an advocate on behalf of our students and their families, helping them navigate through the public school system.

Our staff has a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and our assistance is tailored to meet every individual need. We are in constant communication with the classroom teachers in order to follow our students’ progress closely. We are also in contact with the students’ families on a frequent basis. When individual needs arise, Determined to Succeed acts as a liaison between teachers and parents, keeping the students on a successful and focused path.
